This weekend celebrated another trip around the sun as I turned 26 today. I had a very surprising and fabulous birthday. My parents came down to visit for the weekend, and sadly my brother had to work but I'll see him soon. So to start off the weekend we went out to Red Robin (yummm) and we all finally tried the Royal Red Robin which was fantastic. It is a hamburger with a fried egg on it. Talk about a Cholesterol Kill, but it really was good. Then we hung out a bit and called it an early night because we were all so tired from a long week. Saturday was fantastic as we went out for breakfast and then to the miniature dollhouse store where mom shopped and found a lot of great pieces for her doll house. Following this we stopped by the mall where my husband said he needed to pick up something which really turned into a Coach Shopping Spree. Between Mom, Dad, and Chris I ended up getting three new bags from Coach and a Pony Tail Scarf". I was so excited! This was my second time ever getting a Coach item and it was just too exciting for words. I picked out a pale pink small wristlet, a champagne large wristlet, and a tan and gold signature purse with a colorful ponytail scarf that can double as a hair accessory or scarf for the bag. I felt so spoiled! Then we then went back to the house for some cookie cake and around 6:30 we headed on out to dessert (instead of dinner) at The Melting Pot. Now I felt like I was being spoiled rotten... all of this?? For Me??? Then after that Chris bought two bikes for us to use so we can go riding together.
The next morning on Sunday we all got up and went out to The Egg and I, a brunch place that I have been wanting to try for a long time and we all had breakfast together before my parents started to head back.
It was a really fun birthday, and I'm so glad my parents came down and got to see our house for the first time. I love when my family and I are together. Hopefully in a couple of years we can all live in the same city again or at least a lot closer than we are currently. There is just something nice about having family close to you.
This birthday has tops all of the birthdays I've had in recent memory, and for the first time I didn't tear up when my family left because I know I'll see them again in a month due to my hair appointment, mothers day, and birthdays that are approaching.
