Things I Like

While playing on blogs I found a few things that I'd like to save on my "I Want" list for when we have kids.

How cute are these???

They have little boy ones too so I'd like to get one for each child when we have kids. J for June and J for Jordan. To be honest I was almost tempted to order the picture one that would say "J is for June" BUT with Chris and I you really don't know how our kids will look. Will they have his dark brown/black hair, my white blonde hair from when I was little, or my current dirty blonde/light ash brown hair color? His brown eyes, my blue grey eyes, or the hazel eyes that are in my family? You just never know. These can be found at https://sarahandabraham.com/

Here are nurseries that I love... courtesy of http://gallery.projectnursery.com

I love this one for a boy or a girl.. the letter wall is great but would be pretty difficult for me to do with my perfectionist of a husband so I'd probably just make all of the walls the same blue.

I love this pop of orange. I wouldn't paint a wall orange but I would like to do a purple version of this room... minus the zebra print, and minus the orange chair.

*Update* as it turns out... Chris loves this orange. I wouldn't have guessed that.

I love the light blue and yellow of this room. Again I'd go with a neutral chair in general but I love the yellow accent idea to the blue.

Other little things that mean a lot to me... I'm going to incorporate bunnies in the room when I have a little girl because my baby stuff was based upon little bunnies. When we have a little boy I want to get him a stuffed puppy just like Chris had when he was a baby. Below are exact examples of our two items.

Friends!!

The other night I had the chance to catch up online with some old friends from college that I haven't talked to in awhile, and that caused me to get pretty down. I was really sad when I first left Nac and moved to Houston because I had a great set of friends up there. Friends I could trust 100% and friends that were truly great and had great hearts. Then we all got busy again, and slowly stopped talking. That paired with the job changing issues meant that pretty much my only friends happened to be my husband, and two cats. Depressing right? Slowly I'm coming out of my shell in Houston and meeting more friends but inside I still miss having that close nit group. Ironically we all started texting each other this past week, and my spirits lifted. Yet I still felt an emptiness because my best friend from Nac now lives in Dallas and I couldn't get ahold of him/didn't know if he was ignoring me. Then thanks to another friend she told me he was asking how i was doing... interesting. I said I was good but missed everyone. She passed his number on to me and WALLA! It was as though a day hadn't even passed.

In a random series of events, his phone had dumped all of his numbers out, and he had so much trouble that he had to get a new number. I didn't know this! Anyways we're back in contact again, talking and texting pretty much non stop. We even text while watching Glee last night. Should we now cue in the jealous husband? NOPE! Why not? Because my husband is awesome! Out of all of my friends this is the one he trust the most and knows is not a threat. Partially because the friend is not attracted to women, but also because this was the friend that I could rely on while I was in Nac and Chris lived in Houston. I think my Chris is actually excited because now I have someone else to bug about random stuff instead of him ;) kidding of course but it does mean that his ears get a break every now and then. I also get to see him tomorrow before and after the funeral. It is a sad occasion to have to get together for, but I'll admit I'm excited about seeing my old friends again.

I'm excited, and I'm happy because I feel like I have my best friend back even though we're HOURS apart. Thank goodness for unlimited texting. :)

I Need To Be At Work

Okay so I've been out of the classroom for one day and I can already tell that I need to be back and get my reality check. Why? Because teaching is my version of birth control (half true... I also use meds). Each weekend I recoup from the craziness that is three year olds, and I'm ready to go back and try again. Today however I've been reading other blogs and saying "Man I can't wait to have kids!". This has also been upped by my husband and I talking about how fun it will be to have mini-me's running around and what traits we hope they get from us. I would love for my eye color and my dimples to pass on... especially the chin dimple. I know that I want a boy and a girl, but would love for the boy to be first.

It also doesn't help that what started this up again is a story my husband told me. First off, he was the CUTEST little boy, so freaking cute that it is unreal. So around the time he was 4 or 5 he was at a private school where they had to wear suits... slacks, button up shirts, and ties. He said his dad would know when he had a tough day at school because he'd come home with the back of his shirt hanging out, his head hanging down, with his little stegosaurs backpack on. Like a little business man that had a hard day at work. Now tell me that isn't the cutest thing you can imagine in your mind? So I blame my husband for making me want a little one so much.

I need to go back to work. I need to hear twenty 3 year olds saying "Ms. White! Ms. White! Ms. White.... can I get a tissue?" "He wont share!!" "She took my toy!" and the classic right now... "I'm going to cry if you don't gimmie that!!" to remind me that having kids later on might not be that bad. :)

Spring Break is going to be long...

Spring Break & A Loss

I've been waiting for this week for awhile now. Life has been moving at such a fast pace that I needed a break just to soak it all in.

My job at the new school is exhausting... but worth it. My worst days are the days that I don't stick to the plans, so I'm learning to stay with them to the T. The classroom has undergone a new transformation due to trial and error but hey... it is a learning process. Report cards are due next Friday but I feel prepared for those too.

This week I'll sadly be attending a funeral of an old friend that passed away Sunday morning. He was riding his motorcycle and a car pulled out and hit him. The details are sparse as of now but slowly through the grapevine I've been learning more. The funeral date hasn't been set but I'm guessing these things happen pretty quickly. It is amazing how one moment a friend is alive and fine but then the next moment they are gone and in Heaven. He was a real good guy. You'll be missed friend. :(
