Operation Get Fit

There is almost a secret rule when dieting and working out that states that if you look skinny then you cannot talk about diets.  Why? Because if you are thin why would you diet?  My internal response is that you are not the one seeing me in my underwear.  You may see that I have a waist that curves in on the sides, and skinny as a stick arms but that does not mean I am in shape.   I have been married less than a year and I already gained 15 pounds.  Granted part of that was from the lack of a job for the first time this summer and actually enjoying the couch a bit too much.  Add in that I snacked all the time due to being bored and BOOM... 15 pound will appear.

So in part from looking up information online, and several random little signs I am now working on getting fit, and losing a few pounds.  How? Well by the look of the fridge you would think it is an all fruit diet due to our eating habits but I promise it is now.  I'm just doing portion control and eating foods that are low in fat and calories.  For breakfast I eat a piece of fruit, typically a large apple or such.  Then for lunch I have an Eat Right frozen meal that is worth only about 5-7 weight watchers points along with another piece of fruit and a tiny bag of pretzels.  For Dinner I splurge and have a regular meal which with us it is typically vegetarian or has just a very small amount of meat.  Then if I'm hungry again I'll eat a grapefruit or a handful of nuts.  Monday I'll start up working out again after work with Chris now that I've adjusted to the energy level needed for my job.  I really want to burn the fat, and tighten and tone my muscles a bit so that I don't jiggle.  I already cut out caffeine in my drinks so soon I'm going to cut out even things like sprite and 7up unless I'm going out to eat.

So now that I have my meals set and planned now I just need to find a workout routine that will work for me.   Wish me luck.

Goal: lose 10 pounds first, get my high school running legs back.
